So I decided I would teach you how make one of Instagram's most lusted after breakfast creations! Read ahead to learn how simple it really is to make a beautiful and delicious smoothie bowl! Here's What you'll need! While these all these ingredients aren't 100% necessary to create your ideal smoothie bowl, I added in my favorites so anyone who is a beginner, or just curious, could try out how I like to make mine! Ingredients: ☮For Smoothie Bowl☮
I'm personally a huge fan of Trader Joe's for buying absolutely everything I need grocery-wise. Sadly there's no Trader Joe's near me at school so I always make sure to stock up at home! You'll notice that a lot of the ingredients I use in this recipe are from Trader Joe's and while I do highly recommend using their products for this recipe (because they rock!!), you can also use similar products from your local grocery store and your bowl will still turn out amazing! I love using a frozen berry blend because I personally am a huge fan of berry flavors. But feel free to get creative and try other fruity concoctions such as strawberry-banana, mango-pineapple, and anything in-between! I love using my NutriBullet for making smoothies and juices! I highly recommend this blender because it can truly break down any hard/frozen foods with ease unlike a lot of standard blenders! If you don't have a NutriBullet any standard blender will work for this recipe, but don't hesitate checking out NutriBullet because they've really become my lifesaver for when it comes to making smoothies fast whereas traditional blenders get jammed by frozen foods easily causing a hold-up in my morning routine. So to begin the smoothie bowl, start by blending together your frozen fruits of choice along with the juice of your choice. Blend the smoothie to the consistency of your liking but I prefer when making smoothie bowls to keep the smoothie on the thicker side because you'll be eating it with a spoon rather than drinking it with a straw. Once that's complete you can add in any protein or nutrient powders you may have. It's best putting powder in at the end of the blending process so the powder won't get stuck on the sides of the blender while it's working harder to blend the frozen fruits. I also like to squeeze a little bit of lemon juice into the smoothie because it's a great naturally detoxifying ingredient that's bitter flavor can be hidden by the fruits! Once the blending process is done I like to pour the smoothie into a larger bowl so I have enough room for the fun part: decorating! This second part of the smoothie bowl process is very optional but I would recommend it because it's what makes a smoothie bowl a smoothie bowl! You can use absolutely anything you would like for this part but I listed above in the ingredients section what my favorite (and most delicious) options are. I love to think this part is process of creating of art since smoothie bowls are famous for their beautiful look and layout of toppings, so get creative with it, and that way you can Instagram a picture of it while you're at it! I usually start by lining the rim of the bowl with strawberries slices to make a simple border for your bowl. I love cutting fruits into fun shapes so I decided to cut half of a kiwi in a zig-zag manner to give it a fun look! I then usually fill the rest of the space with the granola, coconut, and seeds by placing them in a striped manner that gives the bowl a very symmetric & aesthetically pleasing finish. And voila you have a beautiful Instagram-worthy piece of art as well as a delicious meal! And that's a wrap for smoothie bowls! I hope you enjoyed learning about the simplicity of creating a smoothie bowl and may your Instagram prosper from the beauty of it☺! Don't forget to share and tag me in any of your smoothie bowl creations! Have a beautiful smoothie-filled day friends! ☆☆
