While I honestly have no experience or right to say I'm a beauty guru, I love to dabble in experimentation in the beauty world anyways. Winter is a hard time to keep your skin and makeup looking soft and glowing, but I've learned a few tricks over the years to do just that! Here are 7 of my favorite tricks and products to glow brighter than the winter snow! ★ ① Matte Bronzer While bronzer is a beauty product that everyone seems to save for the summer, for me it's actually a winter favorite. I believe that too much shine in the winter can wash you out and thus I try to stick away from the typical bold contouring and bright highlighters. That being said, I'm a strong believer that a matte bronzer can give you the summery glow you crave in the winter without getting too washed out by shine. ②Facial Sprays Facial Sprays have become increasingly popular over the past few years and I have honestly been a huge supporter of them ever since. Rose Water has become a huge trend in the beauty industry and it's believed to have a variety of benefits for the skin such as deep hydration without disrupting makeup that is already on your face (just like a setting spray but better!). I personally love Mario Badescu's Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rose Water which keeps my skin hydrated and glowing even in the harsh winter conditions. I can even apply it over my makeup throughout the day for a skin pick-me-up without ruining my makeup. ③Thick, Dark Brows In the past 2 years thick brows have been making an extreme comeback. But now more than ever, everyone has been striving to grow thick and natural looking brows. I'm a huge fan of tinted brow gels which helps keep brow hairs in place while also enhancing the color of the brows. Strong, dark brows in the winter are the perfect wow factor pop against glowing and natural winter skin tones. ④Exfoliators I've always been a huge fan of exfoliators since my skin in the winter always gets flakey and dry. A strong and cleansing exfoliator allows for the skin to turn into a fresh start/clean canvas. I'm extremely loyal to St. Ives exfoliators, especially the Apricot Face Scrub which not only helps keep my dry winter skin fresh & glowing, but also helps control my oily and acne prone skin. It truly is a lifesaver when it comes to blemished and dry winter skin. ⑤Long, Dark Lashes I go through phases when it comes to eye makeup and choosing when I wear eyeliner and mascara. Mascara is my absolute favorite makeup product and I never leave the house without it on. In the winter I find myself straying away from wearing eyeliner during the day and really focusing on getting big bold lashes. I love Ulta's Legendary Lengths Mascara for a full and dark set of lashes that not only make a statement but also give off a natural lash look in the winter. ⑥Face Masks If there was a way to describe my love for face masks it would probably be that I'm an addict. I love that face masks come in all shapes and sizes and can help your skin in a variety of different ways. In the winter I turn towards hydrating/moisturizing masks that tend to include cucumber or avocado in the mask for soothing hydration. A lot of sheet masks are great for dry winter skin because they're packed with vitamins and are extremely hydrating to the touch and when removing the mask as well. ⑦Light Lips Like I said earlier, staying simple with products such as mascara and bronzer are great ways to keep a glowing complexion that doesn't look caked on. I feel like lips work that way as well and as much as we all love a dark winter lip, it can also really show how dried out your lips are. I sometimes like to switch it up and go for more of a neutral or very light shade for lip products to make sure that my lips look hydrated and full. Also never forget to apply chapstick in the winter not only to keep lips soft but also to ensure that lip products don't flake off when using them. ★ Cheers to a happy & glowing complexion and beauty routine this winter! ★★🍻
